Garlic Mushrooms

These simple yet flavorful mushrooms are sauted in butter until golden brown and tender. Topped with a sprinkle of salt and minced garlic and finished with a garnish of fresh parsley. These mushrooms are perfect as a side dish or the perfect topping for any meal.

Sweet Onions: To enhance the sweetness of the dish, incorporate a small sweet onion. Begin by finely slicing the onion and adding it to the skillet after adding the second tablespoon of butter. Allow the onions to sauté until they start to caramelize and develop a golden hue, approximately 3-4 minutes. Continue to stir occasionally for an additional 5 minutes to ensure the onions are tender and beautifully caramelized before removing the skillet from the heat.

Rosemary: As a finishing touch, finely chop fresh rosemary leaves and sprinkle them over the sautéed mushrooms just before serving.

Instructions

Begin by cleaning the mushrooms and removing the stems. Cut the mushrooms into quarters.

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat until it begins to bubble. Add the quartered mushrooms to the skillet and let them sit without stirring for about 3-4 minutes to develop a golden brown color.

After 3-4 minutes, toss the mushrooms in the skillet and add the remaining tablespoon of butter. Allow the mushrooms to cook for another 3-4 minutes until they are tender and lightly caramelized.

Sprinkle the salt over the mushrooms to help draw out moisture, and continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Reduce the heat to low and wait for 2-3 minutes before adding the minced garlic to the skillet. Stir the garlic into the mushrooms and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the sautéed mushrooms to a serving dish. Garnish the mushrooms with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot as a delicious side dish or a topping for your favorite dishes.
